When I approach an oak, I’m bewitched with a feeling.

I cannot find words for this sentimental connection.

Is it homey, is is durability, is it subtle variety?

As I stare, I wonder and perceive some countless connections.

“ACTUAL SWEET NOTHINGS” I partook a trek with

“ACTUAL SWEET NOTHINGS”

I partook a trek with some people,
‘Twas a weekend with honest weather.

We circulated this bench on a curve of the trail,
To encompass its structure was pleasant and unyielding.

Upon the backside of this curious bench,
Offered a view untraditional from the rest.

Journeying on, along the trail,
Had me pondering a scene away from my own.

This curious bench so lonely so quiet,
Witnessed daily the many, the few, the large, the small.

Away with traditions! In my head,
I nonchalantly, broke the few to join the many.

Off the trail, away from confined direction,
To gaze upon the natural lines.

As I stood so rigid so pointed,
I envisioned a scene so human so nature.

Though I hesitated to commit,
To my envisioned decisive moment.

That curious bench so lonely so quite,
Whispering forever about the actual sweet nothings.

Each opportunity at that envisioned moment,
That curious bench’s whispers struck my heart.

Allowing the travelers of the trail,
Autonomy from my aim.

World traveler Fergie recently found her way back

World traveler Fergie recently found her way back to Eugene, and gave me another opportunity to photograph her. Being a native Turkish citizen she’s been surprised by the earthquake that hit her country, and I can’t imagine how’s she really feels.

Fergie has contacted me asking if I have any ideas how I can help. So I did what I do and made art and hopefully a message how fragile we and our environment is.

If you all have ideas or ways of supporting, feel free to reach out to @ferguliko. I know she’d appreciate it. Various emergency relief organizations are in her radar, but maybe there’s a creative idea out there…
